Help Wanted - Communications Intern

The LPNC is seeking a dynamic and motivated Communications Intern to join our team. Are you passionate about liberty, individual rights, and free-market principles? Do you want to learn about the political process and the political landscape in North Carolina? Are you interested in making money and changing the world?

This paid internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the world of Libertarian advocacy and the political process. The role is 90% virtual, with occasional in-person meetings. No travel is required, though there will be opportunities to travel to events. All training for the position will be provided. 


Key Responsibilities:

Assist in creating and distributing compelling content across various platforms.
Support media outreach efforts and cultivate relationships with journalists.
Assist with production, editing, distribution, and promotion of newsletters, press releases, emails campaigns, regular outreach, and podcast.
Help manage our social media presence and engage with our community.
Conduct research on current events and Libertarian policy issues.
Collaborate with our team on special projects and campaigns.

Qualifications:

Familiarity with Libertarian principles and a passion for promoting them, as well as a willingness to learn.
Boundless curiosity and drive to improve our political system.
Strong writing and communication skills.
Patience, diplomacy, and people skills.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
Ability to work with data.

Nice to Have, but Not Necessary (we will teach you these things!):

Experience in political organizing, advocacy, or affiliation.
Experience with social media and digital marketing.
Knowledge in HTML, CSS, and / or Liquid.
Video editing and graphics design capabilities.
Studies in Political Science, English, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or related. We will consider applicants from all fields of study, but these pursuits suggest that you will enjoy the work.

Additionally, the Communications team is seeking content submissions and regular writers, artists, editors, and support staff for the newsletter, the podcast, and several other ambitious plans for 2024. We can use an hour a week or 40; as long as you are fighting for Liberty there is a place to make your voice heard. We can’t do it without you!
